Music for thought

Inspiration for songs in Blood Wedding.  These songs are folk music with liturgical lyrics.  The first link will get you more information about the history and a application that will translate the words if you like.  The manuscript was called the Red Book.  The next four links are directly to the favored songs.

Remedios Varo: costume inspiration

Some Remedios Varo that inspired me with the costume design.  I love the dark, surreal mood and atmosphere of her paintings.  I am hoping to use her warm yet sepia tipped colors and textures.

Production meeting tomorrow at 12;30 in the Devine.
Here are some things to take a look at that I've compiled as per Robbie's excellent injunction at our last meeting. We can look at them again altogether tomorrow but I thought it might be fun for you all to see them beforehand, as well.
Best,
Nadia

Blood Wedding

Blood Wedding
by Federico Garcia Lorca
based on the translation by Langston Hughes
Directed by Nadia Mahdi

In this elemental reimagining of a classic tragedy, new love is celebrated, an old passion is rekindled, and lovers desperately flee through a moonlit forest where supernatral forces vie for control. Lorca's sensuous and deeply conflicted exploration of desire, rebellion and retribution comes to live in this ensemble-driven production based on the Langston Hughes translation.
